Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Ficus triangularis variegata, commonly called Variegated Triangle Fig, is a tropical shrub grown for its uniquely shaped triangular leaves and creamy white variegation. Native to tropical regions of Africa, it grows in warm, bright environments with strong airflow and seasonal drying periods. What makes this plant special is the geometric leaf shape paired with soft cream to white margins that contrast against deep green centers. The leaves are thick, slightly leathery, and triangular with rounded edges, growing densely along woody stems.

Light requirements
Place Ficus triangularis variegata in an east or south window for the best growth and variegation, positioned at the window or within 1 to 3 feet depending on intensity. A west window can also work well if monitored for excessive heat, while a north window will reduce variegation and thin the plant out. Under grow lights, use 5000K to 6500K and keep the light 8 to 12 inches above the canopy. It performs best around 400 to 800 foot-candles. Brighter light helps maintain stronger variegation and compact growth.

Watering & environment
Allow the soil to dry about halfway to mostly dry between waterings, and always check the root zone with a chopstick or meter before watering. Use a well-draining mix and provide steady airflow around the plant. It adapts to average indoor humidity but dislikes sudden environmental shifts or cold drafts.

What your plant is telling you
If leaves begin to droop or feel thinner, it is ready for water. If leaves yellow and drop quickly, especially lower leaves, the soil is staying too wet. If variegation fades or stems stretch with sparse growth, it needs more consistent light.
