Shipping policy
Thank you for shopping with us. Each plant is carefully selected, prepared, and packaged to arrive in the best possible condition. Please review this policy before placing your order.
Shipping Schedule
Orders ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only to prevent packages from sitting in transit over the weekend. Orders placed after Tuesday will ship the following Monday. Shipping timelines begin once your order is fulfilled, not at the time of purchase.
During colder months, ground shipping is not recommended. Heat packs are required, and faster shipping may be necessary depending on destination and temperatures.
Weather Protection
Live plants are sensitive to temperature changes. Weather protection add-ons are available on every product page to help reduce transit stress.
Heat packs are used during colder months to prevent freezing, not to heat plants. Available options include 40-hour (approximately 1.5 days), 72-hour (approximately 3 days), and 110-hour (approximately 4.5 days) heat packs. Reflective R8 thermal insulation is used to help buffer temperature fluctuations during transit.
Cold Weather Shipping Protection
Tropical plants can experience cold stress when temperatures drop below 55°F during transit. If your overnight temperatures are below 55°F, a heat pack is required to help protect your plant during shipping. Current overnight temperatures in many regions, including Michigan, are between 30–40°F, and conditions may be similar in your area. Orders placed without appropriate weather protection are shipped at the buyer’s risk.
Important Shipping Notes
Heat packs are time-limited
Shipping speed must match heat pack duration
Ground shipping in winter can take up to one week, especially to the West Coast
West Coast winter orders must ship 3-day service or faster
If shipping speed exceeds the protection window, plant safety cannot be guaranteed
Summer Shipping (June through September)
Cool packs and thermal insulation are available to help reduce heat exposure. Faster shipping is strongly recommended during periods of extreme heat.
Shipping Responsibility
Once a package leaves our care, transit conditions are outside of our control. We are not responsible for delays, damage, or loss caused by the shipping carrier or weather conditions.
It is the customer’s responsibility to select appropriate shipping speed and required weather protection, including heat or cool packs, monitor tracking, and bring the package inside promptly upon delivery. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended. If insurance is not selected, all transit risk is assumed by the buyer.
Concerns After Delivery
Any concerns must be reported within 12 hours of delivery and include clear photos of both the plant and packaging. Due to the nature of live plants, messages received after this window may not be eligible for review.
Post-Shipping Recovery
Shipping is stressful for plants. Temporary drooping, soft stems, or leaf loss can occur and does not indicate poor health.
Unpack your plant immediately upon arrival. If the soil is dry, water thoroughly. If it is still moist, wait. Place the plant in appropriate directional light based on its needs and avoid direct sun, heaters, vents, or cold drafts. Allow time to adjust and do not repot, fertilize, or prune for 2 to 4 weeks. Minor stress typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours with proper care. Repotting too soon can increase stress, so wait at least 30 days.
