Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Alternanthera ficoidea ‘Party Time’, commonly called Party Time Plant, is a colorful tropical foliage plant grown for its bright pink splashed leaves. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, it grows as a dense, branching shrub in warm conditions. What makes this plant special is the intense hot pink variegation layered over deep green foliage, giving it a high-contrast, almost painted appearance. The leaves are small, slightly pointed, and densely packed along upright stems, creating a vibrant, bushy form.

Light requirements
Place Party Time Plant in an east or south window for the best color and compact growth, positioned at the window or within 1 to 2 feet depending on intensity. A west window can also work well if monitored for excessive heat, while a north window will reduce the pink coloration and cause leggier growth. Under grow lights, use 5000K to 6500K and keep the light 8 to 12 inches above the canopy. It performs best around 400 to 800 foot-candles. Brighter light intensifies the pink coloration and keeps growth dense.

Watering & environment
Allow the soil to dry about halfway down before watering, and always check the root zone with a chopstick or meter. Use a well-draining mix and avoid letting the plant stay overly wet. It prefers moderate humidity, warm temperatures, and benefits from regular pruning to maintain fullness and branching.

What your plant is telling you
If leaves begin drooping or feel thin, it is ready for water. If stems soften or leaves yellow quickly, the soil is staying too wet. If the pink fades or stems stretch with larger spacing between leaves, it needs more consistent light.
