Cordyline glauca, commonly called Ti plant, is a tropical plant native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific known for its upright, cane-like growth and long, strap-shaped leaves that arch outward from the top. What makes this plant special is its clean, vertical structure paired with smooth, flowing foliage, giving it a strong, palm-like presence while staying manageable indoors.

Light drives both color and how full the canopy stays. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without prolonged harsh sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–12 inches from the top of the plant. In lower light, the plant will thin out and drop lower leaves more quickly, exposing the cane. Strong, even light keeps the top fuller and growth more balanced.

Watering should stay consistent but not heavy. Allow the top portion of the soil to dry slightly, then water thoroughly and let it drain, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark for airflow. This plant shows stress through its lower leaves—if they yellow and drop slowly, it can be normal aging or slightly too much moisture. Brown tips often point to mineral sensitivity or inconsistent watering. If the cane softens or multiple leaves decline quickly while the soil is wet, the roots are staying too saturated.
