Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Monstera deliciosa ‘Yellow Marilyn’, a rare variegated form native to Central America, is known for its large, split leaves marked with bright yellow to golden variegation. What makes this plant special is its bold, high-contrast coloration combined with classic Monstera fenestration, creating a strong, collector-level statement. The variegation can range from soft marbling to large sectoral patches, and each leaf develops a unique pattern as the plant matures and climbs.

Light supports both variegation and leaf development. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 8–12 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will cause the yellow tones to fade and lean more green, while too much direct sun can burn the lighter sections.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If new leaves are coming in with less yellow and more green, it is not getting enough light. If the plant produces smaller leaves with fewer splits, it also needs more light or support. Browning on the yellow areas is typically from light or moisture stress rather than a disease.
