Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Anthurium ‘Queen of Hearts’, a cultivated hybrid from tropical Central and South American lineage, is known for its large, broad, heart-shaped leaves with a smooth to lightly textured surface and defined veining. What makes this plant special is its classic heart form—wide, symmetrical leaves that feel full and substantial, giving it a bold, romantic, collector-style look compared to longer strap or velvet types.

Light drives leaf size and overall fullness. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–12 inches from the top of the plant. In lower light, new leaves come in smaller and the plant can lose that full, rounded shape. Strong, even light keeps the leaves broader and more defined.

Watering should stay consistent with strong airflow at the roots. Allow the top portion of the mix to dry slightly, then water thoroughly and let it drain, using a very airy mix of orchid bark, perlite, and a small amount of soil to hold light moisture. This plant shows stress through its structure—if new leaves are smaller or less heart-shaped, it’s reacting to light, not water. If edges crisp while the leaf stays firm, it’s a humidity drop. If the base softens or multiple leaves decline while the soil is wet, the roots are staying too saturated.
