Scindapsus Platinum 6”

Scindapsus ‘Platinum’ is a striking variety known for its pale, silvery-green leaves with a smooth, almost metallic sheen. This plant originates from the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it naturally grows as a climbing or trailing vine under the forest canopy. It thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its signature platinum coloration. While it can tolerate lower light than many houseplants, its growth will slow, and the silver tones may fade into a darker green if lighting is insufficient.

For the best lighting direction, place the plant where it receives light from the east or north. An east-facing windowgives gentle morning sun that enhances the plant’s coloring without scorching the foliage. A north-facing windowprovides consistent soft light, ideal for avoiding leaf burn and maintaining even growth. If using a south or west window, keep the plant slightly far from the glass or behind a sheer curtain to diffuse the intense midday and afternoon rays.

Good light direction also helps the vines grow evenly rather than stretching toward a single source. Rotate the pot every 1–2 weeks so the plant receives balanced light from all sides.
