Plants are constantly responding to the environment around them. Light influences growth and water use. Roots respond to moisture, oxygen, and the conditions inside the pot. Leaves change. Growth patterns shift. Pests have life cycles. Seasons change the environment inside our homes.

The more you understand those connections, the easier it becomes to recognize what your plant is communicating and decide what to look at next.

The Rooted Plant Care Library was created to give you a place to keep learning. Each guide explores a specific part of plant care in depth while helping you understand how it connects to the rest of the plant and its environment.

The Library Is Still Growing

Plant care gives us an incredible amount to learn, and that's part of what makes growing plants so interesting.

As I continue learning, teaching, experimenting, and working with plants, I'll continue adding that education to the Rooted Plant Care Library.

You don't have to learn everything at once. Start with what interests you, what you're seeing in your plants, or what you'd simply like to understand better.

Then keep going.

The more you understand your plants, the more you'll notice. And the more you notice, the more there is to learn.
