San Paulo Pothos is a striking and uncommon variety of the beloved pothos family, known for its deep green leaves marbled with bold, silvery-white variegation. Like other pothos, it hails from the tropical regions of Southeast Asia but is often cultivated and hybridized in other parts of the world, including Brazil—where this variety gets its name inspiration. Its dramatic foliage and trailing habit make it a standout in any indoor jungle, perfect for shelves, hanging baskets, or climbing up a moss pole.

Indoors, San Paulo Pothos thrives best in bright, indirect light—such as near an east- or north-facing window. While it can tolerate medium or even low-light spaces, brighter light will help maintain its bold variegation and promote healthier growth. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Use a well-draining potting mix and water when the top inch of soil is dry, being careful not to overwater, as pothos are prone to root rot in soggy conditions.

To keep your San Paulo looking its best, dust the leaves regularly and trim any leggy vines to encourage a fuller, bushier plant. You can fertilize once a month during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Though not the fastest grower among pothos varieties, its unique coloring and low-maintenance care needs make it a beautiful addition to any indoor collection. It’s a forgiving plant that brings elegance and ease into your space.
