Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Philodendron Red Moon is a rare collector Philodendron prized for its dramatic new growth that emerges in shades of bright red, orange, pink, and copper before gradually hardening off to green. Native Philodendrons originate from the tropical rainforests of Brazil and surrounding regions, where they climb trees beneath the forest canopy. What makes Red Moon special is the constantly changing color display. No two leaves look exactly alike, and the newest growth often becomes the centerpiece of the entire plant. Mature specimens can become stunning climbing plants with large foliage and vibrant flushes of color.

Place Philodendron Red Moon within 1–3 feet of an east-facing or south-facing window. Strong light is essential for maintaining the vivid reds, oranges, and pinks that make this plant desirable. Under grow lights, use a full-spectrum bulb in the 5000K–6500K range. High-output lights should be positioned 8–12 inches above the foliage, while medium-strength lights work best at 10–14 inches. The brighter the conditions, the stronger the coloration tends to be. A moss pole or climbing support will encourage larger leaves and more mature growth over time.

Water when the root zone is approaching dryness, never on a schedule. A chopstick, moisture meter, or clear nursery pot will provide a much more accurate reading than checking the surface of the soil. Grow in a chunky mix of equal parts succulent soil, coarse orchid bark, and perlite to maximize airflow around the roots. New leaves often emerge with intense coloration before slowly transitioning through multiple shades as they mature, which is completely normal. Smaller leaves, longer internodes, or less vibrant new growth are often signs the plant would benefit from increased light or a climbing support.
