The heart leaf fern (Hemionitis arifolia), also known as the heart-shaped fern or "love fern," is a small, elegant plant native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, as well as parts of Asia. It thrives in moist, shady environments and is often found growing in the forest understory, where it enjoys high humidity and filtered light. In terms of care, the heart leaf fern prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil but does not like to sit in water. It’s best to keep the soil lightly damp, but not soggy, to prevent root rot.
