Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Peperomia caperata (green ripple), native to South America, is a compact plant known for its deeply textured, quilted leaves in a rich, glossy green. What makes this plant special is its sculpted, rippled surface that gives it a dense, almost architectural look while staying small and full, making it ideal for tight spaces or grouped displays.

Light should be moderate and gentle to maintain its compact form and texture. Place it in an east or north-facing window where it gets steady light without direct sun hitting the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too much direct sun can stress and flatten the leaves, while too little light will cause the plant to open up and lose its tight structure.

Watering should stay on the lighter side. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep it airy. If the leaves begin to soften or lose their firm, rippled texture, it is ready for water. If the plant starts to stretch or space out, it is reaching for more light. Yellowing leaves with soft stems point to excess moisture at the roots rather than underwatering.
