he Oleander Bush (Nerium oleander) is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub known for its beautiful, fragrant flowers that come in shades of pink, white, red, or yellow. Native to the Mediterranean region and parts of Asia, it’s often grown outdoors in warm climates but can also be kept indoors in containers with the right care. Note: All parts of the oleander plant are highly toxic if ingested, so it should be kept away from pets and children.

Indoors, Oleander needs full sun to thrive — place it in a south-facing window where it gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Without enough light, the plant may become leggy and fail to flower. If adequate natural light isn't available, consider supplementing with a grow light. Outdoors, it prefers a sunny patio or balcony with good air circulation.

Water regularly during the growing season, letting the top inch of soil dry out between waterings. Use a well-draining soil mix and ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot. Oleander tolerates dry air well and doesn’t need high humidity. Prune it after flowering to control shape and remove any spent blooms or dead wood. Due to its toxicity, always wear gloves when pruning or handling sap, and wash hands thoroughly afterward.
