Tradescantia 'Pink Paradise' is a colorful trailing plant prized for its vibrant shades of pink, cream, green, and lavender splashed across each leaf. Native Tradescantias originate from the tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, where they spread across the forest floor and cascade from rocks and branches. Pink Paradise is especially valued for its bright pink variegation, which can intensify under the right growing conditions. Its fast growth and cascading habit make it ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, and decorative planters where the colorful foliage can spill over the edges.

Place Tradescantia 'Pink Paradise' within 1–3 feet of an east-facing or south-facing window. Strong light is essential for maintaining the vibrant pink coloration and compact growth habit. Under grow lights, use a full-spectrum bulb in the 5000K–6500K range. High-output lights should be positioned 8–12 inches above the foliage, while medium-strength lights work best at 10–14 inches. Insufficient light often causes the pink coloration to fade, producing greener growth and longer spaces between leaves.

Water when the root zone is approaching dryness, never on a schedule. Use a chopstick, moisture meter, or clear nursery pot to determine moisture levels before watering. A chunky mix of equal parts succulent soil, coarse orchid bark, and perlite provides excellent drainage while supporting rapid growth. Tradescantias root easily along their stems, so don't be afraid to trim and propagate cuttings to maintain a fuller plant. If stems become long and sparse, the plant is often asking for more light or a light pruning to encourage branching. The brighter the light, the more vibrant the pink coloration typically becomes.
