First, thank you for being here and for being part of the Rooted community. Whether you’ve purchased a plant, bought one of my books, watched a Live, read an article, or you’re just here trying to figure out what the heck your plant is doing, I appreciate you being here.
Rooted Plant Shop is a small business, and when you reach out looking for plant help, you’re reaching out to me. I’m the person running the shop, caring for the plants, packing and shipping orders, creating the educational content and books, and teaching during my Lives. There isn’t a separate plant-help team behind the scenes. That is a big reason I have spent so much time creating resources that allow me to help more people and give you somewhere to turn when I can’t personally answer every plant question that comes in.
I have spent years teaching people how to grow plants inside their homes, and I’ve put that education into the Plant Help Center, my Lives, and the Rooted Care Library. When the Care Library is complete, it will contain more than 1,000 pages covering light, watering, pests, roots, plant signals, variegation, indoor growing environments, and so much more. These aren’t quick care sheets. I want you to understand why something is happening so you can make better decisions for your plants long after today’s problem is solved.
Start With the Plant Help Center
If you’re dealing with a specific problem or have a quick question, start with the Plant Help Center. It’s free, and there is a growing collection of educational articles covering many of the problems and questions I see over and over again.
Come Hang Out With Me Live
I also teach and answer plant questions during my Lives. If you have a question that doesn’t require me to sit down and work through your entire setup with you, come ask me. I cover real plant problems, explain what I’m seeing and why, and teach you how to start recognizing those same things with your own plants.
Want to Really Understand Your Plants? Use the Rooted Care Library
If you want to go beyond solving today’s problem and actually understand what your plants are telling you, this is where I want you to go next.
The Rooted Care Library gives you detailed education that you can keep, reference again, and use across your entire plant collection. As the library continues to grow, my goal is to give you the knowledge to make confident decisions as your plants grow and change.
And yes, I would genuinely rather you buy the book than book a consultation with me.
A 30-minute conversation ends after 30 minutes. A book stays with you. You can go back to it when something changes, use it with more than one plant, and continue learning from it for years.
Still Need Me? Private Plant Consultations
Sometimes you really do need individualized help. For those situations, I offer a very limited number of private plant consultations.
These are 30-minute, one-on-one appointments focused on one specific growing problem or 1–2 plants. We can work through your individual setup, including light, watering, roots, environment, placement, pests, and the other factors that may be contributing to what you’re seeing.
Appointments are intentionally limited because when you book a consultation, you are booking time directly with me. Consultations are 30 minutes and end at the scheduled time. Additional plants or unrelated questions require another appointment, and arriving late does not extend the appointment. Any photos or information requested beforehand need to be submitted before your appointment so we can spend those 30 minutes actually working through the problem.
And if I know one of my books already covers exactly what you’re trying to figure out, I may point you there instead. You’ll spend less money, get significantly more information, and have it sitting there the next time one of your plants decides to do something weird.
