Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Syngonium Albo is a variegated form of Syngonium podophyllum, native to Central and South America, and is highly sought after for its crisp white and green variegation that can range from marbling to large sectoral patches. Each leaf is different, which gives it strong collector appeal, especially when the variegation is balanced. It grows as a climbing or trailing plant depending on how you style it, and with support like a pole, the leaves will mature larger and more defined. The white portions lack chlorophyll, so this plant is both beautiful and slightly less forgiving.

Place this plant in an east or west-facing window about 1–3 feet from the glass, or a south-facing window 3–5 feet back. Variegation needs strong light to maintain, but too much direct exposure will burn the white sections. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K positioned 10–12 inches above the canopy. If the plant starts reverting to more green, it needs more light. If the white sections brown or crisp, it’s getting too much intensity or inconsistent watering.

Water using a chopstick or meter and let the soil dry about halfway down before watering again. This plant likes a consistent cycle but does not want to stay wet. Because of the variegation, it’s more sensitive to stress, so stable conditions matter. Browning on white areas can come from watering inconsistency, low humidity, or light stress. If growth slows or leaves get smaller, check your light first, then watering. Prune any fully green leaves if you want to encourage more variegation over time.
