Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Stromanthe sanguinea ‘Triostar’, native to tropical South America, is a vibrant foliage plant known for its variegated leaves streaked with green, cream, and pink, with a deep pink underside. The leaves are long and slightly pointed, growing upright and fanning outward, creating a full, colorful display. It belongs to the prayer plant family, so the leaves will gently move throughout the day in response to light.

Light should be bright and filtered to maintain its color. Place it in an east or north-facing window where it receives steady light without direct sun hitting the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 12–18 inches from the top of the plant. Too much direct sun will fade the pink tones and scorch the leaves, while too little light will reduce variegation and slow growth.

Watering and environment need to stay consistent. Keep the soil evenly moist, never soggy and never fully dried out, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep airflow while holding moisture. If the leaves begin to curl inward or edges crisp while the soil is still moist, it is reacting to low humidity or water quality rather than needing more water. If new leaves come in smaller with less pink and more green, it is not getting enough light. Brown tips without softness usually point to mineral buildup or sensitivity to tap water rather than watering frequency.
