Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Epipremnum aureum ‘Pearls and Jade’, a cultivated pothos from Southeast Asian lineage, is known for its small, heart-shaped leaves marked with crisp white and cream variegation mixed with green speckling. What makes this plant special is its high-detail pattern—each leaf has sharp, clean variegation with fine flecking, giving it a more intricate and refined look compared to broader variegated pothos.

Light drives both variegation and how tight the growth stays. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–12 inches from the top of the plant. In lower light, the white fades and the plant leans more green, and the vines stretch with more spacing between leaves. Strong light keeps the variegation crisp and the plant compact.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark. This plant shows stress through its pattern—if new leaves come in mostly green, it’s reacting to light, not water. If vines become long and sparse, it needs more light. Yellowing leaves with soft stems while the soil is wet indicate the roots are staying too saturated rather than needing more water.
