Pearls and Jade Pothos is a beautiful cultivar of Epipremnum aureum, known for its uniquely variegated leaves featuring creamy white and silvery-gray speckles against a green backdrop. It’s a compact and slower-growing variety compared to the classic golden pothos, making it ideal for desks, shelves, and small spaces. Originally bred by the University of Florida, Pearls and Jade adds a refined, artistic touch to any houseplant collection with its marbled foliage and trailing vines.
This pothos variety thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light conditions as well. While it can survive in low light, its variegation will fade and growth will slow significantly. To maintain the striking contrast in the leaves, place it near an east- or north-facing window, or use sheer curtains to diffuse stronger sun. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause the white parts of the leaves to burn.
Pearls and Jade Pothos is easy to care for, requiring watering only when the top inch of soil feels dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so be sure the pot has drainage holes. It prefers average room humidity but will benefit from occasional misting or a nearby humidifier. Prune occasionally to encourage fuller growth and prevent legginess. With a little light and attention, this elegant pothos will reward you with trailing vines of beautifully variegated leaves for years to come.

from 816 reviewsBeautiful plant! Very well packaged and timely shipping!
The plant arrived in perfect condition and is beautiful. I love it!
Despite the “beginner” name, I’d say it’s genuinely useful at any experience level. It starts with a solid foundation for those just getting into houseplants, but the depth of the later guides means it doesn’t feel like it’s talking down to anyone with more experience. It’s less about basic care instructions and more about building a real understanding of how plants function, which is useful whether you’re keeping your first pothos alive or managing a larger, more varied collection.
What sets it apart is the emphasis on understanding why plants behave the way they do, not just prescribing one-size-fits-all care instructions. This approach makes it easier to recognize early warning signs and address issues before they become serious problems.
Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a more thorough, connected understanding of plant care rather than piecemeal advice — regardless of how long you’ve been growing.
Wonderful shop to purchase from! I am
Learning so much and am thoroughly enjoying the beginners plant guide series. The pest guide helped me successfully defeat fungus gnats and taught me to transition to bottom watering. Thanks Mel!!
