The Pink Lady Bolivian Jew (Callisia repens ‘Pink Lady’), also known as Callisia repens ‘Pink Panther’, is a colorful trailing plant native to Central and South America, particularly Bolivia and Mexico. It belongs to the spiderwort family (Commelinaceae) and is loved for its small, round leaves that blend green, pink, and cream tones. In its natural habitat, it grows as a groundcover in warm, humid environments, often under the partial shade of larger plants.

For healthy growth indoors, the Pink Lady Bolivian Jew thrives in bright, indirect light. Too little light can cause the vibrant pink hues to fade, while too much direct sunlight may scorch the delicate leaves. A spot near an east- or north-facing window is ideal, or filtered sunlight through sheer curtains in a south- or west-facing window. If the plant’s variegation starts to dull, moving it to a brighter location usually restores its color.

When it comes to general care, this plant prefers well-draining soil and should be watered moderately—allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot, while underwatering may lead to leaf drop. The Pink Lady also appreciates higher humidity but adapts well to average household conditions. Regular pruning helps keep it compact and encourages fuller growth. With the right balance of light, moisture, and care, this charming plant adds a soft, colorful touch to any indoor garden.
