In its native environment, it receives bright, filtered sunlight, which allows its glossy, heart-shaped leaves to grow lush and vibrant without being scorched. These natural lighting conditions guide how to care for it indoors.

Indoors, the Heartleaf Philodendron thrives in bright, indirect light, ideally near an east-facing window for gentle morning sun or a north-facing window for consistent diffused light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may slow and leaves may become smaller and less vibrant. Direct afternoon sunlight from south- or west-facing windows can burn the leaves.

To encourage even, bushy growth, rotate the plant every week so all sides receive light. If natural light is limited, a full-spectrum grow light placed slightly above the plant can mimic its native filtered sunlight.
