Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Philodendron ‘Jose Buono Albo’, a variegated form of Philodendron jose buono native to tropical South America, is a large-leaf climbing aroid known for its broad, elongated leaves splashed with creamy white variegation. The leaves are thick and glossy with irregular patterns that can range from marbling to bold sectoral patches. As it matures and climbs, it produces larger, more dramatic foliage, making it a high-impact statement plant.

Light supports both growth and stable variegation. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light can lead to more green-dominant leaves and slower growth, while too much direct sun can burn the lighter sections.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If new leaves are coming in with less variegation and more green, it is not getting enough light. If the plant produces smaller leaves with less definition, it also needs more light or stronger support. Browning on the lighter sections is typically from light or moisture stress rather than a disease.
