Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Philodendron ‘Golden Crocodile’, a hybrid from tropical South American philodendron lineage, is known for its deeply serrated, narrow leaves that resemble a crocodile’s back. What makes this plant special is its bold, jagged leaf shape paired with bright golden-green new growth that matures into a richer green, creating strong contrast and movement. As it grows, it develops a bushy, upright to slightly climbing habit with increasingly dramatic foliage.

Light supports both color and leaf definition. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will result in less defined serration and duller color, while stronger light helps maintain the bright tones and tighter growth.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If new leaves are coming in smaller with less pronounced serration, it is not getting enough light. If the plant begins to stretch with longer spacing between nodes, it is reaching for more light. Yellowing at the base with soft stems points to excess moisture at the roots rather than underwatering.
