Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Philodendron ‘Flobe x Tortum’, a hybrid with lineage from tropical South American philodendrons, is a rare climbing aroid known for its deeply divided, narrow leaves that combine the elongated, skeletal look of Tortum with the broader structure of Florida types. The foliage is glossy and highly dissected, giving it a dramatic, almost fern-like appearance as it matures and climbs. It develops a strong, vertical presence with increasingly complex leaf structure over time.

Light supports both leaf development and that intricate shape. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will result in less defined splits and narrower, simpler leaves, while stronger light encourages more dramatic, well-formed foliage.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If new leaves are coming in with less division or appear more solid, it is not getting enough light or support. If the plant stretches with longer spacing between nodes, it is reaching for more light. Smaller, less intricate leaves over time typically point to light levels rather than watering issues.
