Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Musa ‘Nono Pink’, a cultivated banana from tropical regions of Southeast Asia, is a compact ornamental banana known for its broad, paddle-shaped leaves with soft pink tones mixed into green. The foliage is smooth and slightly glossy, with new leaves often showing stronger pink coloration before settling. It grows upright from a central pseudostem, creating a full, tropical look while staying smaller than traditional banana varieties. Highly sought after for  its variegation.

Light drives both color and growth speed. Place it in a south or east-facing window where it receives strong, consistent light. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 8–12 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will cause the pink tones to fade and slow overall growth, while stronger light helps maintain color and supports larger leaf development.

Watering and environment need to stay consistent and slightly heavier than most houseplants. Keep the soil evenly moist, never soggy and never fully dried out, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to maintain airflow while holding moisture. If new leaves are coming in smaller or with less pink, it is not getting enough light. If the edges begin to brown while the leaf stays firm, it often points to low humidity or inconsistent watering. Rapid leaf tearing or weak growth usually ties back to environmental stress rather than a single watering issue.
