Ming Aralia is a stunning, elegant houseplant known for its lacy, feathery foliage and upright growth. Native to Southeast Asia, it has a tree-like appearance and can grow several feet tall indoors with the right care. Its finely divided leaves give it a delicate, bonsai-like look that makes it a standout in any plant collection.

This plant prefers bright, indirect light, though it can tolerate medium light conditions. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves, and keep it away from drafty windows or cold rooms—it likes warmth and consistency. Ideal room temperature is around 65–85°F (18–29°C). Water moderately, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Ming Aralia doesn’t like to sit in soggy soil, so use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes.

To keep your Ming Aralia happy, maintain moderate to high humidity—mist occasionally or place it near a humidifier if your indoor air is dry. Fertilize monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. It’s a slow grower, but occasional pruning will help keep it full and bushy. Be patient—it may drop leaves with sudden changes in light or temperature but usually bounces back with steady care. With its graceful form and minimal fuss, Ming Aralia is a gorgeous, long-lived houseplant for any indoor jungle.
