Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Hedera helix ‘Teardrop’, commonly called Teardrop Ivy, is a compact ivy cultivar grown for its small, rounded to teardrop-shaped leaves. Native to Europe in its species form, this variety has been selected for its dense, tight growth and uniquely shaped foliage. What makes this plant special is the soft, curved leaf shape paired with a fuller, less aggressive trailing habit than traditional ivy. The leaves are smooth, slightly cupped, and deep green, forming a dense, layered look that works well in small pots or controlled trailing displays.

Light requirements
Place Teardrop Ivy in an east or north window for the best balance of growth and shape, positioned at the window or within 1 to 3 feet depending on intensity. A west window can work if pulled back from direct sun, while a south window should be filtered or positioned further back to avoid leaf scorch. Under grow lights, use 5000K to 6500K and keep the light 10 to 14 inches above the canopy. It performs best around 150 to 400 foot-candles. Brighter indirect light keeps it dense and compact.

Watering & environment
Allow the soil to dry about halfway down before watering, and always check the root zone with a chopstick or meter. This plant does not tolerate staying overly wet and prefers a well-draining mix with good airflow. It adapts to average humidity but performs best in slightly cooler, well-ventilated conditions.

What your plant is telling you
If leaves become crispy or dry, it is drying out too much or humidity is too low. If leaves yellow and drop, especially near the base, the soil is staying too wet. If growth becomes leggy or sparse, it needs more consistent light.
