Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Amydrium medium ‘Silver’, native to Southeast Asia, is a climbing aroid known for its elongated leaves with a silvery sheen layered over deep green. As it matures, the foliage develops fenestrations and a more dramatic, split form, especially when given support to climb. The silver overlay gives the plant a softer, almost reflective look that sets it apart from typical green aroids.

Light supports both the silver tone and leaf development. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will reduce the silver sheen and delay fenestration, while stronger light helps maintain the color and encourages more defined splits.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If new leaves are coming in more green with less silver, it is not getting enough light. If the plant continues producing solid leaves without developing splits as it climbs, it needs more light or stronger support. Slower growth with smaller, less defined leaves typically points to light levels rather than watering issues.
