Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Alocasia baginda ‘Silver Dragon’, native to Southeast Asia, is a compact alocasia known for its thick, textured leaves with a silvery-gray surface and deep, dark green veining. What makes this plant special is its scale-like pattern that gives it a raised, almost armored look while maintaining a soft metallic sheen. The leaves are firm and structured, creating a bold, sculptural presence in a smaller form.

Light supports both color and leaf texture. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–14 inches from the top of the plant. Too little light will dull the silver tone and reduce texture definition, while too much direct sun can damage the leaf surface and cause fading.

Watering and environment need to stay consistent. Keep the soil lightly moist, never soggy and never fully dried out, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep it airy. If new leaves are coming in smaller with less pronounced texture, it is not getting enough light. If edges begin to crisp while the rest of the leaf stays firm, it often points to low humidity or inconsistent moisture. If the plant droops while the soil is still wet, it indicates excess moisture at the roots rather than underwatering.
