Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Alocasia 'Green Unicorn' is a rare tropical aroid prized for its oversized, glossy green foliage and strong upright growth. Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia through its Alocasia lineage, it grows beneath the rainforest canopy where warmth, humidity, and filtered light create ideal growing conditions. The large, dramatic leaves and thick stems give the plant a bold architectural presence, while its lush green coloration makes it a versatile centerpiece in any tropical collection. As it matures, the foliage becomes increasingly impressive, creating the look of a miniature jungle indoors.

Place Alocasia 'Green Unicorn' within 1–3 feet of an east-facing or south-facing window. Bright light encourages larger leaves, stronger stems, and more vigorous growth. Under grow lights, use a full-spectrum bulb in the 5000K–6500K range. High-output lights should be positioned 8–12 inches above the foliage, while medium-strength lights work best at 10–14 inches. Lower light conditions often result in slower growth, smaller leaves, and stretched petioles as the plant reaches toward the light source.

Water when the root zone is approaching dryness, never on a schedule. Use a chopstick, moisture meter, or clear nursery pot to monitor moisture levels throughout the pot before watering. A chunky mix of equal parts succulent soil, coarse orchid bark, and perlite provides the airflow and drainage needed for healthy roots. Alocasia 'Green Unicorn' enjoys consistent moisture but does not tolerate remaining soggy for extended periods. Drooping foliage often indicates thirst, while yellowing leaves and soft stems are common signs that the root zone is staying wet too long. Warm temperatures, good airflow, and stable conditions will reward this plant with steady growth and increasingly large foliage.
