The goldfish plant earned its name because of the masses of red-orange flowers that appear in the spring and summer and look a bit like leaping goldfish.

Goldfish plants are highly rewarding. Outdoors, they want to grow to 3 feet, but it's a good idea to pinch off the new stems and maintain the plant under two feet tall. This will encourage better blooming.

Goldfish plants prefer bright light, but they don't like direct light. An eastern facing window is perfect. They can also successfully be grown under lights indoors, especially during the winter.

During the summer, water generously and keep the soil continuously moist. In the winter, cut back on the water and allow the soil to become slightly drier. This seems to encourage better blooming. Be aware that the soil should never dry completely out.

This jade is probably the fullest and healthiest specimen I’ve ever seen. And it shipped beautifully. I just love the red tint on the leaf edges. As good or better than the photos! I am a forever client at this point - hands down my favorite place to get my plants!
