Anthurium Doryaki 3”

Anthurium doryaki  (Pancake) is a tropical species native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia where it grows in warm humid environments with excellent airflow and loose organic material around its roots. This plant is adapted to stable conditions and does best indoors when temperatures are consistent and the soil is airy rather than dense or compacted. Sudden temperature drops or waterlogged soil can cause stress quickly. 

Bright indirect light is essential for healthy growth. An east facing window or a south facing window set back a few feet provides the steady light this plant prefers. Too little light slows growth while direct sun can burn the leaves and cause discoloration. Rotating the plant every few weeks helps maintain even growth and prevents it from leaning toward the light source. They grow closer to the ground and bushy. 

Water based on soil moisture not a schedule. Use a wooden chopstick or water meter placed deep into the pot and water only when the lower portion of the soil is mostly dry. Allow excess water to drain completely and avoid letting the plant sit in standing water. Keeping humidity moderate cleaning the leaves and observing small changes weekly will help anthurium doryaki stay healthy and thrive long term.
