The Philodendron 'Lemon Lime' is a vibrant cultivar of the Philodendron hederaceum, native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. This variety is known for its electric lime-green to golden-yellow leaves that brighten up any indoor space. It shares the heart-shaped foliage and vining growth habit of its relatives but stands out with its neon coloration, which becomes more intense under ideal light conditions. As a fast-growing and low-maintenance plant, it is often used to add a splash of color to shelves, hanging baskets, or trailing down tall planters.

This Philodendron prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vivid leaf color. An east- or north-facing window works well, or a few feet back from a south- or west-facing one with filtered light. While it can tolerate lower light levels, its growth may slow, and the leaves can lose their bright hues. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can cause leaf burn. If grown under artificial lighting, full-spectrum grow lights can help it maintain healthy growth and coloration throughout the year.

Philodendron 'Lemon Lime' is easy to care for and forgiving of occasional neglect. It thrives in well-draining soil, such as a mix of potting soil, perlite, and peat moss. Watering should be done when the top inch of soil is dry—too much moisture can lead to root rot. It prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions. Fertilizing monthly during the growing season encourages lush growth. Regular pruning can keep the plant bushy and prevent it from becoming too leggy, and its trailing stems can be propagated easily in water or moist soil.
