The Dwarf Bolivian Jew plant (Callisia repens), also known as Turtle Vine or Pink Lady, is a compact, trailing plant beloved for its tiny, round leaves that range in shades of green, purple, and soft pink—especially in bright light. Native to South and Central America, this plant makes an excellent choice for small spaces, windowsills, or hanging baskets where its cascading vines can spill gracefully over the sides.

For the most vibrant color, place your Dwarf Bolivian Jew near a bright east- or west-facing window where it can receive bright, indirect light for several hours daily. In a south-facing window, be sure to filter the light with a sheer curtain to avoid leaf burn. If grown in lower light, the plant may become leggy and lose its vivid coloration, especially the pink and purple tones.

This plant prefers well-draining soil and should be watered when the top inch of the soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as it’s prone to root rot if left in soggy conditions. It thrives in moderate humidity but can tolerate normal indoor levels. Regular pinching back encourages fuller growth and helps prevent legginess. Easy to propagate and fast-growing, the Dwarf Bolivian Jew is a charming, low-maintenance option that adds texture and color to any plant collection.
