The Philodendron ‘Brasil’ is a vibrant and easy-care trailing plant with bold variegated leaves striped in lime green, chartreuse, and deep forest green. A cultivar of the classic heartleaf philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum), the ‘Brasil’ brings a tropical splash of color to shelves, hanging planters, or trailing across surfaces. It's fast-growing and forgiving, making it one of the most popular choices for beginners and collectors alike.

For best results, place your Philodendron ‘Brasil’ near a bright east- or north-facing window, where it will receive indirect light throughout the day. It can also tolerate medium to low light, though the variegation may fade or become more muted in lower light conditions. In a south- or west-facing window, filter the light with sheer curtains to avoid sunburn on its delicate leaves.

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, and be sure the pot drains well to prevent root rot. Use a well-draining, airy potting mix—an aroid mix with peat, perlite, and orchid bark works beautifully. Prune occasionally to encourage bushier growth and easily propagate cuttings in water. With minimal effort, the Philodendron ‘Brasil’ will reward you with colorful, trailing foliage that livens up any indoor space year-round.
