Ctenanthe oppenheimiana, often called the Never Never Plant or Ctenanthe ‘Tricolor’, is a striking tropical foliage plant native to the rainforests of Brazil. It belongs to the Marantaceae family, which also includes prayer plants and calatheas. This plant is prized for its long, lance-shaped leaves with bold patterns—deep green with silvery stripes on top and rich purple undersides. It adds instant jungle vibes and bold contrast to any space, making it a favorite for collectors who love patterned foliage.

In the home, Ctenanthe oppenheimiana thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can bleach or crisp the leaves, while too little light may fade its vibrant patterns.
