Aloe and Haworthia are both popular succulents, but they each have slightly different care needs. Aloe, known for its medicinal properties, thrives in bright, indirect sunlight, though it can tolerate some direct sun. However, too much direct sunlight, especially in hotter climates, can scorch its leaves. A common mistake with aloe care is overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Aloe prefers to dry out completely between waterings. It's best to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again, and ensure the pot has good drainage to allow excess water to escape. Aloe also appreciates a well-draining cactus mix to keep the roots healthy.
Haworthia, on the other hand, can tolerate lower light conditions compared to aloe, making it a great choice for indoor environments with less natural sunlight. While it still enjoys bright, indirect light, direct sun can cause its leaves to turn red or brown. In terms of watering, Haworthia is also prone to root rot if overwatered, so a similar strategy should be applied: let the soil dry out between waterings. Unlike aloe, Haworthia has thicker, smaller leaves that store moisture, so it doesn’t need as much water. It's important to avoid high humidity and ensure that the plant is in a pot with good drainage.
For both aloe and Haworthia, temperature control is important. They both thrive in warm conditions, typically between 60-85°F (15-29°C), and prefer dry air. Avoid placing them in areas with cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C). A helpful trick for both plants is to occasionally rotate them to ensure even growth and prevent them from leaning toward a light source. With the right balance of light, water, and temperature, these succulents can thrive and provide beauty with minimal care.

from 109 reviewsReceived my plants sooooo quick. The hot pack was still hot. Packing was done with great care. Unfortunately, my plant did not look great. Even though it arrived quick, the areas had some really cold temps. I’m going to give it some love and see what happens but I know Mel will help. I will not hesitate to order again and again.
Plant arrived in excellent condition! Impeccable packaging! You can tell Mel truly cares about her plants, business, and her customers. Second time purchasing from her and I will be ordering more! 10/10 you knocked it out of the park again. 🤩

I love my Begonia; Melanie always packages everything with extra care. I just have to keep her alive now, lol.

The ordering, shipping, packaging, and quality of the snow queen went way beyond my expectations. Plus, I’ve been learning so much just tuning in and watching the lives. New plant customer for life here. 🪴

Mel is an awesome plant parent. Her plants are well taken care of and healthy. She has a wide variety to choose from. I will be ordering more of my wish list plants from her in the future.

My plant arrived secured in peanuts, cling wrap at the base, a heat pack in the box also!!! It was cold here in Ohio. It is the perfect bonsai and exact one in the picture. I love it, I’m so happy.

Mel sent the most beautiful Alocasia I have ever seen! Packaged so well and very healthy! Highly recommend!

I ordered the subscription box and was able to pick which plant I wanted for the dollar value of my subscription. Mel helped me find a good plant to help with my air quality in my main living space. She was knowledgeable about the plants’ care and when it arrived the plant did NOT disappoint! It arrived just as gorgeous as it was when I picked it. She shipped it out on Monday and it arrived today, Tuesday. The shipping was crazy fast! The plants were very well packaged with fragile labels on almost every side. There was dirt kicked around in the box, but not as much as I would expect when shipping a pot full of soil. I definitely will recommend 1000 times again! Oh! Also she ships with heat packs! My new babies didn’t have to suffer the cold! ☺️
