Each plant is unique. Size, shape, fullness, and variegation will vary.

Monstera standleyana is a climbing aroid known for its narrow, elongated leaves that grow upright along a support rather than developing splits like other monsteras. The foliage is smooth and slightly leathery, often showing subtle silver or light markings depending on the form. It has a clean, structured look and stays more refined and compact while still gaining height as it climbs.

Light keeps the plant tight and encourages fuller growth. Place it in an east-facing window or a few feet back from a south or west-facing window where it gets steady, bright light without direct sun hitting the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K at 500–900 foot-candles. Too little light will cause the plant to stretch with wider spacing between leaves and lose its upright structure, while stronger light keeps growth compact and aligned.

Watering should stay balanced and consistent. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain. Use a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark to keep the roots airy. If the plant starts producing longer internodes and leaning instead of climbing tightly, it’s reaching for more light. If lower leaves yellow while the top continues growing, it points to excess moisture in the soil rather than a natural shed.
