For an unusual yet easy-to-find ficus variety, consider Ficus elastica 'Tineke' (sometimes sold under the trademarked name 'Chroma'). The variegated rubber plant, as it is also known, often features striking reddish-pink tones on the outside of the green and cream foliage, and the sheath at the top of the stem is also a deep burgundy-red color. Although it's usually grown as a houseplant, in a climate with warm and humid winters, it can remain outdoors year-round. Ficus elastica likes the type of bright, indirect light that mimics that found in its natural tropical forest habitat. Place the plant in an east-facing window or set it back from a south- or west-facing window. Avoid direct harsh afternoon sun.

Let the top couple of inches of potting mix dry out to the touch in between waterings. Deep watering once every one to two weeks during the growing season is usually enough, depending on the light and humidity in your home. Slightly underwatering is better than overwatering, as too much moisture leads to root rot. Feed the plant with a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer every few weeks through the growing season in the spring and summer. Skip the fertilizer during the winter months.

Great idea to tape all the plants to the box so they won’t shift. The plants themselves were well wrapped for their safety. The plants arrived in good shape.
