Collection: Pilea

Pilea is a genus of small, fast-growing plants native to tropical and subtropical regions, particularly in Central and South America, as well as Asia. Known for their unique, round, and often glossy leaves, Pilea plants are highly popular as ornamental houseplants. The most well-known species, Pilea peperomioides, commonly called the "Chinese money plant" or " pancake plant," is loved for its striking appearance, with its flat, coin-shaped leaves on long, slender stems. Pilea plants are relatively easy to care for and thrive in bright, indirect light, although they can tolerate some low light. They prefer well-draining, slightly acidic soil and need to be watered regularly, but only when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, as they are prone to root rot if overwatered. Pilea also appreciates higher humidity but can adapt to normal household levels. These plants grow quickly and often produce small, delicate flowers in the right conditions. Their charming, compact size and low-maintenance nature make them an ideal choice to add to your collection.
